Pokey originally came to live with a family in an apartment who had been told he was a miniature potbelly pig, he was instead a farm pig! After that he went to live with a second family who also chose to rehome him. Finally a third family stepped in a rescued him, but they lost their farm and had to rehome all of their animals. When they originally rescued him, they were told he was only 4 years old, we have since come to the conclusion that he is much older.
He suffers from arthritis and has little mobility in his back legs. We are working on treatment, medication, and supplements to help him hopefully regain some mobility and decrease his arthritic pain. Pokey is a very gentle and loving soul who cherishes his relationships with humans, and is very saddened and depressed with each move. Now he will never have to move or be rehomed again...he is finally home after all this time! He loves playing with his soccer ball, and just adores attention!
